Surge Capacity Planner
Some folks will tell you that it’s not possible to collect and maintain detailed data on health care resources: There are too many providers, too many different types of resources, and the inventory is always changing. But as a planner, how can you know whether you have enough, if you don’t know how much you have?
A few key resources account for most of what we call “preparedness”. Our data collection system captures information on the key resources in hospitals in a way that is useful for health care preparedness planning. Data collection systems are also available for specialty hospitals, community health centers, and long term care facilities.
Tools for updating the database annually support reporting requirements under the National Hospital Preparedness Program.
